Modern Languages and Literatures uses this placement test to give students an opportunity to test into higher-level courses for registration and faster completion of the BA world language proficiency requirement or a language major/minor.

E.g., if you’ve taken a 102 course and you did not pass the class, you cannot take the LPE to try to place into 201 after the fact. The LPE is designed for placement before you begin taking classes; placement tests taken after you begin your course sequence will be discarded. Additionally, The LPE cannot be used to skip courses in a sequence.
